Being a Vessel

In my project Being a Vessel I explore what it means to be influence and inspired. The project is a dedication to the vase and the vessel as forms that have the ability to contain, hold and embody.
In each of the works I am inspired by a constellation of artists, architects, and designers such as Gae Aulenti, Miriam Schapiro and Ray Eames. The works are rooted in my need to carry their creative lives with me beyond the exhibitions or publications I have seen. What started as a way to create personalized reminders of these figures by translating their work in to my own visual language has become an in-depth, evolving research into ideas of artistic ancestry.
